This morning, I received an email from Frances Conklin of Dog Bark Park Inn located on Hwy 95 North in Cottonwood Idaho. Frances is one of my dearest and most admired customers, and a friend, who always amazes me. Not only did she and her partner Dennis create a Bed and Breakfast and Chainsaw Folk Art Gift Gallery based on the Worlds Largest Beagle concept as well as other dog antecdotes, but in reality, Frances and Dennis are two of the most inspiring marketers in the North Central Idaho Region that I’ve ever known. Well, Sprocket the English Setter, does help alot when meeting and greeting overflow of customers is necessary.
I was most fortunate to be selected 3-4 years ago to professionally upgrade the website for Dog Bark Park Inn. Frances has recently challenged herself with the social media sphere and further exemplifies the passion to promote and market. A newsletter is also sent to customers worldwide to keep in touch with new and interesting tidbits of information. Besides photos, rates and info about the Beagle Bed and Breakfast, the website also features a Chain Saw Gift Gallery for dog lovers around the world who want to commemorate their own pet, or their love for a special dog through the 70+ breeds of little wooden folk art style painted dogs available for purchase. Buy a dog of choice and the treasured gift arrives in the mail dolled up with a neck tag and western bandana scarf. Even if dogs aren’t your thing, the wonderment of Dog Bark Park makes it a fun place to visit. For more, visit www.dogbarkparkinn.com
Ok, so how does this all relate to an airport website you may be asking????
Back to the email I received this morning. Frances’ e-message stated that “the March/April issue of Flying Adventures Magazine included a photo & article about Dog Bark Park in their WeekEnders section, mentioning the Grangeville Airport as arrival location for access to DBP. Since this is the current issue it is not yet available for download from the website, www.flyingadventures.com. ”
Wow, this was just the kind of news item I was hoping for. Imagine a national magazine for private aircraft pilots discovering Dog Bark Park in a pilot trade magazine! It takes two to tango, and as I had just recently put some of the finishing touches on our new Idaho County Airport website, it is with delight that I write this article to spread the word about “fly in adventures” to our very own Grangeville airport and a feature article to one of our very own landmarks, Dog Bark Park, where being in the dog house is a good thing!
Check out the Flying Adventures Magazine website! www.flyingadventures.com Very cool, with flash based imaging and photos that are visually stimulating.
The interest by Flying Adventures Magazine in Dog Bark Park Inn may have planted the very seed our Idaho County Airport tourism efforts needed to bloom into an open door for small aircraft pilots from all over the world, and we must thank Frances, Dennis and Sprocket for the wonderful attraction that Dog Bark Park Inn provides that made this happen. The timing could not be better!
Thank you Flying Adventures Magazine and Dog Bark Park Inn!
